someone should make an heroic effort to save this show

Heroes is boring me a tad lately. In fact, not Heroes in general, but most of the individual story lines. Okay, maybe that adds up to Heroes in general. What’s my beef with Chapter 4 – The Kindness of Strangers?

1. Why didn’t Parker let it go as soon as Molly gave him the address. He knew the city, he knew the street and he knew the building. He’s looking for his father, goddamnit, he knows what he looks like approximately and could just search the building. In a consistent writing world he would never have risked Molly.

2. Flying boy – what’s his face? annoys the shit out of me. He’s obnoxious and obtrusive and he really needs to leave Claire alone. Why on earth does she “have to trust him” so he “can help her”? Claire doesn’t need help, at least not from you, you creep.

3. Maya y Alejandro: naive people annoy me even more than obtrusive people. Oh let’s just tell a total stranger everything about ourselves. I’m not even going to comment on this irrational, stupid behaviour.

4. I know Hiro wasn’t in the episode, but the storyline with Takezo Kenzei should have ended last week. Like it almost did, until Hiro decided to stay a while after all. And all that for a woman…

5. Ali Larter needs to get more screen time, I’m beginning to really miss her.

6. I want to see Sylar go good. I like Zachary Quinto and think he could do a really good job portraying a shift in Sylar’s behaviour. I’d find it interesting.

Of course there’s positive stuff too:

I really like the new girl, Monica. Where did she get her fighting skills from? “Television.” Of course. The actor playing her little brother intrigued me, and I definitely know the actress playing her best friend from somewhere. But where? I’m going to have to check the credits again or simply wait, because imdb.com hasn’t many cast members listed yet for this episode.
I really want to know about Nathans face, unfortunately the graphic novels on nbc.com don’t say anything further on this matter, but actually include an incredibly weak Hiro-Manga-Pokémon comic. Don’t ask. And don’t look at it if you don’t want to waste your time.

I like how Mohinder, Matt and Molly are portrayed as a family. I don’t think they’re gay or anything, I just consider it a good thing to show that alternative families are a good and possible thing. I’ve decided to view it as a shoutout to all “alternative” “lifestyles”.
